Accidental spills, are very common when using an oven. Therefore, it is important to clean the unit regularly. Spills can begin to pile up, becoming fuel for a potential oven fire. Many ovens are equipped with self-clean cycle, to help remove and hardened-on spills. When running a self-clean cycle, always remember to first remove all racks from the inside of the oven as the extreme heat will destroy their finish. Most ovens will heat to roughly 1100 degrees to burn away small food crumbs left behind.
