Schedule Maintenance

Washing machines do not require a whole lot of maintenance, if used responsibly. It is very important to make sure you remove all items from pockets. Small items often find their way to the sump, where they can obstruct or clog the drainage pump. This is even more important on front load washers, as items can more easily slip between the tub and the inner basket. Most front load washers have a catch or screen in the sump to help mitigate this issue. Some models give user friendly access to the pump screen located at the bottom, front of the washer. This makes it very easy to clean on a regular basis. However, many others require significant disassembly.
